Today I’m introducing Kumamoto Port Waterside Green Park (Kumamoto-ko Shinsui Ryokuchi Hiroba), located in Shinko, Nishi Ward, Kumamoto City.

A spacious parking lot welcomes you on arrival.

Public restrooms are available on site.

There’s even a diaper changing table — great news for traveling families.

A hand-washing area is also provided.

Plenty of benches make it easy to sit back and relax.

A massive monument greets you as you enter the park.

You’ll also find these striking giant stones — they almost feel like a Hawaiian power spot!

A pine grove surrounds the area, and my son was completely absorbed in collecting pine cones.

The biggest draw? The absolutely stunning views!

If you’re craving sea views, this is the place for you!

And it’s huge!

There’s plenty of space for kite flying, baseball, or just stretching your legs.

The wide open space makes it easy to keep your distance from other visitors.

Toward the back of the park, you’ll spot a mysterious standing board.

Get closer, and you’ll see small peep holes that let you look through to the other side.

This area is actually a designated wildlife protection zone, and the peep holes are designed for bird watching!

The board sits on a small hill that offers a fantastic view from the top — definitely worth the climb!

Watch the sea, spot some birds, and just relax — this park is the perfect spot to slow down and breathe. ♪
