About the Bakery

Hello, travelers!
I’m Ayu-Mama, a writer for “SaruKuma.”

Today I’m excited to introduce a stylish little bakery located in Kamitori-machi, Chuo-ku, Kumamoto City
【rojipan Namikizaka】
SaruKuma previously featured ‘Rojipan Koyama’, but this time we’re checking out the Namikizaka location.

【Rojipan Koyama】Did you know about this incredible bakery with eat-in seating? 《Koyama, Higashi-ku, Kumamoto City》

At first glance, the Namikizaka shop looks more like a chic boutique than a bakery — that’s how stylish the storefront is!
Here are the opening hours.
(At the time of my visit they opened at 9:00, but they now open at 8:30.)
And the interior? Just as gorgeous!

The breads are beautifully arranged along the wall — almost like artwork in a gallery.
There’s a wonderful variety to choose from!
They specialize in hard-crust, European-style breads.
During my visit, plenty of fashionable office workers from the surrounding shopping district stopped by to grab their lunch.
It’s the kind of trendy, photo-worthy bakery that’s perfect for travelers looking to experience modern Kumamoto life.

Recommended Picks

I picked up three different breads this time.
Even the bag is stylish — a chic gray (note: bags are sold separately).
Anbutter (Sweet Red Bean & Butter) — 150 yen
A classic Japanese pairing: rich sweet azuki bean paste and a generous slab of butter packed into a crusty hard roll. The contrast of sweet, salty, and savory is unforgettable!
Cranberry Cream Cheese — 240 yen
Filled with creamy cheese and tart-sweet cranberries — a sophisticated, grown-up flavor.
Melon Pan — 140 yen
I picked this one up for my son! There’s a small terrace area where we sat down to enjoy it together.

Melon Pan is a beloved Japanese sweet bun that kids absolutely adore!
My son devoured his in seconds — apparently it was a hit.

Why not stop by while strolling around the Namikizaka shopping street and treat yourself to a freshly-baked snack?
