About the Restaurant

Today we’re introducing
“Sakariba Kobayakawake”,
a cozy izakaya located in Hachioji, Chuo Ward, Kumamoto City.

There’s one parking spot right next to the restaurant.

If it’s already taken, just give the restaurant a call to check ☆

Inside, you’ll find counter seats and

traditional Japanese-style tatami zashiki seating — perfect for shoes-off comfort.
A real lifesaver when you’re dining with little ones ✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧

They even provide kid-sized plates

Recommended Menu

Here’s a peek at the menu ↓

Classic otsumami (Japanese drinking snacks), fresh salads,
seafood and meat dishes,
sashimi and crispy fried items,

plus rice dishes and desserts — there’s so much to choose from!
The regular menu alone is impressively varied (人*´∀`)。*゚+

And the walls are packed with even more menu options!

These look like seasonal limited-time specials (◍•ᴗ•◍)

And the drinks menu will make any sake or beer fan smile!

The drink list is wonderfully extensive.
Non-alcoholic options are available too — great news for designated drivers and kids!

And the best part? They offer an all-you-can-drink (nomihodai) plan ✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧
Check this out:
\120 minutes — 2,000 yen for men / 1,500 yen for women/

Such a steal! And draft beer is included!
The nomihodai is absolutely worth it (≧▽≦)

Now, here’s what we ordered…

First up, the otoshi (complimentary appetizer)!

Isn’t this otoshi unbelievably generous?!
You could honestly enjoy a whole drink with just this. (haha)

Next: oyster fry (kaki fry) and garlic shrimp.

The oysters are from Hiroshima — plump, firm, and incredibly delicious!
The shrimp had a bold, satisfying garlic punch (≧▽≦)

Here are chicken skin gyoza!
Kids will absolutely love these!

Springy chicken skin packed with savory gyoza filling ( ꈍᴗꈍ)

And here’s something you rarely see at an izakaya —
the adorable tako-san wiener (octopus-shaped sausages)!

Kids will be thrilled, of course,
and adults will get a nostalgic kick out of them too ✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧

Caesar Salad with Crispy Bacon
a salad with serious staying power!

The veggies are cut to the perfect bite-size — not too big, not too small (✯ᴗ✯)

And then comes the nakaochi karubi (short rib beef).
The sauce is sweet, balanced, and oh-so-tasty (ㆁωㆁ)

Thanks to their nakaochi karubi fair, you can enjoy plenty of beef at a great price ✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧

Absolutely perfect…!!!!!

To finish, we tried the takana fried rice (chahan) — fried rice with pickled mustard greens, a Kyushu specialty.
More beautifully separated, fluffy grains than any chahan I’ve had elsewhere.

And the flavor? Truly, truly amazing.

This is my personal NO. 1 recommendation (◠‿・)—☆

But honestly — !!!
everything we tried was incredible, so be sure to bring the whole family
to Sakariba Kobayakawake ♪

The staff are warm and welcoming,
so you can relax and truly enjoy your meal ✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧
