Introducing Karaage Masa Nichirinji

I’m Binako,
a Sarukuma writer feeling a little weighed down
after eating one too many candies today!

Today I’m excited to introduce
Karaage Masa Nichirinji,
a specialty Japanese fried chicken (karaage) shop located in Sugi, Yamaga City, Kumamoto Prefecture.

You’ll find this little gem tucked into the parking lot of a FamilyMart convenience store,
and the bright LED signboard makes it easy to spot! ^^

When I placed my order,
the staff greeted me with such warm, beaming smiles that my whole day felt brighter.

There was a kind woman at the counter and a gentleman working behind her,
and honestly, both of their smiles were so wonderful I could see myself becoming a regular here!

Recommended Menu at Karaage Masa Nichirinji

Here’s a peek at the menu:

Half Young Chicken (Hanmi-age) – 850 yen

Karaage (Soy Sauce or Salt flavor)
Mini Pack (3 pieces) – 250 yen
Single Pack (5 pieces) – 350 yen
Triple Pack (15 pieces) – 1,000 yen

The half-chicken option is a true feast – you get to enjoy every part, from juicy wings down to tender thigh meat.

Karaage Bento (Fried Chicken Lunch Box) – 450 yen
Chicken Katsu Bento (Breaded Chicken Cutlet Lunch Box) – 450 yen
Tori Mayo Bento (Chicken with Mayo Lunch Box) – 450 yen

They also serve full bento lunch boxes, making this a perfect spot for a quick and satisfying lunch on the go.

This time, I went with
Salt Karaage – 3 pieces for 250 yen.

Each piece is huge and incredibly filling!

The batter is light and crispy – it looks absolutely irresistible!

Pure deliciousness in every bite.

Juicy, perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of salt – this is karaage at its finest.
Each piece is so generously sized that you’ll feel completely satisfied.

The chicken is tender enough for kids to enjoy easily,
and the salt seasoning is so well-balanced that you can keep munching without feeling heavy or oily afterward.

I’m already looking forward to coming back – both for the karaage and for those amazing smiles!
