๐Ÿ“Œ What You’ll Find in This Article
A Sarukuma writer visits “Yakitori Kazu” in Mashiki and shares a full report. Prices start from just 120 yen. We’ve also rounded up family-friendly tips, access info, and opening hours.

Hello, travelers!

I bought a cheap hairdryer and now it smells funny…
This is Binako, writer for Sarukuma!
Next time, I promise not to skimp.

Today we’re heading to
Soryo, Mashiki Town, Kamimashiki District, Kumamoto Prefecture,
“Yakitori Kazu” โ€” a hidden local favorite for grilled chicken skewers and so much more.

There’s some road construction along the standard navigation route, so heading in from the
Discount Drug Cosmos Soryo Store side is much smoother!

The shadows are giving me amazing long-leg vibes, but anyway…

The parking lot is conveniently located right in front of the shop! ^^

This time of year, they’re also taking pre-orders for New Year’s holiday platters,
with plenty of options like karaage (Japanese fried chicken) platters, hot pot sets, and yakitori assortments. โ™ช

Recommended Menu Items

Behind the order counter, rows of glistening yakitori await, including unique veggie-wrapped skewers like:
Pork Belly Wrapped with Garlic Chives โ€” 120 yen
Pork Belly Wrapped with Enoki Mushrooms โ€” 120 yen โ™ช

Karaage (Japanese fried chicken):
5 pieces โ€” 300 yen
10 pieces โ€” 600 yen
15 pieces โ€” 900 yen, and more

So many fried chicken varieties at unbelievably reasonable prices…!
These prices are a lifesaver for hungry travelers and families alike!
Karaage for dinner tonight โ€” yes, please!

Hormone Stew (simmered offal) โ€” 500 yen
Camembert Cheese Croquette โ€” 120 yen
Old-Fashioned Croquette โ€” 70 yen
Fried Horse Mackerel โ€” 110 yen

There are tons of fried delicacies on the menu,
and honestly, the old-fashioned croquette has my full attention.

Today, we ordered the
Hormone Stew โ€” 500 yen!

It comes frozen, so there’s no risk of spilling on the way home โ€” easy to take out with peace of mind. โ™ช

The moment you heat it up,
the rich aroma of hormone fills the room and gets you so hyped up.

Time to dig in!

First off โ€” these hormone pieces are HUGE!
Each piece of offal is enormous, and just picking one up makes me grin from ear to ear, lol.

The hormone is so tender, with just the right amount of fat โ€”
absolutely incredible flavor.
The simmering broth is perfectly seasoned, and I literally couldn’t put my chopsticks down.

Even though the pieces are big, they’re easy to eat,
and my kids were gobbling them up too.

Next time, I’m definitely trying that croquette…
The staff are also super kind and welcoming. ^^

Tourists and locals alike โ€” you’ve got to try this place! Don’t miss out!
