Today I’m introducing
ROTARY COFFEE
located in Motoyama, Chuo-ku, Kumamoto City!

I’d been curious about this place for a while,
and finally got to visit!

Bottom line up front:
It was even cozier than I’d hoped —
I highly recommend it!!!!

The shop sits in a quiet residential area,
right near the FamilyMart in Motoyama ⭐︎
(It’s the spot that used to be Lion Curry.)

The shop’s parking lot is on the left side as you face the building.
There are also coin-operated parking lots within walking distance,
so keep that in mind!

The interior has such a wonderful atmosphere!
The owner’s stylish taste shines through everywhere!
They sell coffee-related goods
and coffee beans are also available for purchase.
They offer 200-gram bags
as well as single-serving drip bags,
all featuring charmingly laid-back illustrations that are absolutely adorable!

Here’s a sweet bonus: customers who buy coffee beans
get a complimentary cup of coffee!!
What a delightful service!

You order and pay at the counter inside,
but first, let me show you the atmosphere!

The design sense really stands out!!
The chairs and tables are all different designs,
so each seat offers a totally different vibe
— it’s a space made for slowly enjoying coffee!

While I was there, a regular customer was
at the counter side
enjoying coffee while chatting with the owner — so cozy!

The window-side seat is the best seat in the house!
Lucky me — that’s where I got to sit this time!
Looking outside, you’ll see

this lovely view!
I’m a fan of people-watching,
so I could sit there all day
watching the world go by —
such a wonderful seat.

Those are the regular menu items,
but during my visit there was a limited-time menu
— a collaboration with Maharik Pan (Pan to Asia Maharik) in Oe!

It’s an ice cream sandwich made with
Maharik’s bread and
Rotary Coffee’s homemade ice cream ⭐︎
· Espresso Chocolate Chip ¥500
· Pistachio Raspberry ¥600
Two flavors to choose from,
and I went with the Espresso Chocolate Chip
plus a Cold Brew Iced Coffee ¥480!

I enjoyed it from that very best seat!
My friend ordered the
Pistachio Raspberry and a
Cafe Latte!

The taste? Need I say more!
Both the coffee and ice cream sandwich were absolutely delicious!
The homemade chocolate chip ice cream
featured generous chocolate chips that
held their own beautifully against the espresso!

Don’t worry though — even if you miss the limited-time menu,
their sister shop Snack Okashina Rotary provides plenty of sweets,
so you can also enjoy seasonal homemade desserts!

Lately I’ve been spotting cute original drawstring pouches
at trendy cafes and shops everywhere,
and they’re so handy that I always want to grab one,
and guess what — Rotary Coffee makes their own original ones too!
The pouches aren’t sold separately, but
there’s a fantastic set of 10 drip bags (5 varieties × 2 each)

that comes with the pouch!!
And it’s only ¥1,900 with the pouch included!!

Total no-brainer!

I’ve been using mine non-stop since I bought it!
The size is just right and I highly recommend it!
There are several designs to choose from ⭐︎

The atmosphere was so welcoming
that my friend and I ended up lingering for ages…
but I found a new favorite spot!
I’ll definitely be back!!!
