“Kengun no Kado Maruna Karaage” — a karaage (Japanese-style fried chicken) shop tucked right on a street corner.

Here’s a fun bit of Japanese wordplay for you — the name itself is a clever joke!

“Maruna Karaage on the Kado (corner).”
In Japanese, kado means “corner” (sharp angle), while maru means “round.” So the name basically says: “The round karaage shop on the sharp corner.”
A playful contradiction — and it really IS on the corner!

As you can see, the shop sits right on a street corner.

You’ll find it on the tram-line side of Kengun Shopping Street (Kengun Shotengai) — super easy to spot if you arrive by Kumamoto’s iconic city tram. ^^
