Hotakubo in Higashi-ku, Kumamoto City, where you’ll find
“Emi’s Cookie”.

The exterior is straight out of a Studio Ghibli film

This is such a wonderful little shop.
Every step you take builds the excitement! ♪

Outside there’s a charming eat-in corner,
so you can sit down and enjoy a peaceful, relaxing moment.

Perfect for solo travelers too — please give it a try! ♪

Step inside and you’re greeted
by rows of beautiful, mouthwatering cookies.

Every single one is handmade ^^

There are plenty of icing cookies that kids absolutely love,
and right now there are tons of Halloween-themed designs! ★

They also display lovely accessories,
so if you enjoy browsing cute knickknacks, you can take your time here ^^

You’ll also find a selection of teas,
so you can grab cookies and tea to take home
for a relaxing tea time of your own ♪

Emi’s Cookie is run by a lovely mother-and-daughter duo,
and they’re both incredibly warm and welcoming ^^

They also bake scones, but
scones are only available on Saturdays! ♪

Now we have something extra to look forward to on Saturdays (*´Д｀)

Vanilla Ice Cream

Yum! ^^

The ice cream is topped with an icing cookie,
which makes it ridiculously cute (*´Д｀)

The cookie on top changes each time,
and mine came with an adorable flower-shaped one ^^

The ice cream is loaded with rich vanilla flavor
that fills your mouth with every bite — absolutely delicious! ♪

The cookies here are also handmade,
and because each one is crafted individually,
you get that perfect crisp-yet-crumbly texture (*´Д｀)

The shortbread is also made by hand.
And Emi’s Cookie’s signature illustrations
are so charming and heartwarming ( *´艸｀)

The texture is so light, you’ll want to keep eating one after another.

Handmade is the best!

The sweetness is gentle, the texture is moist, and they’re absolutely delicious.

These are cookies that warm your heart and soothe your soul.
