Hello, fellow travelers!
It’s Rikotama, your Sarukuma writer!

Today we’re heading to
Takamori Town in Aso District, Kumamoto Prefecture, to visit
Tsukimawari Park (月廻り公園).

Tsukimawari Park is famous for one thing above all:
a sweeping panoramic view of the magnificent Aso Five Peaks (Aso Gogaku)!

As a couple who grew up in Tokyo,
we’re constantly blown away by Kumamoto’s wide-open nature!

Kumamoto really is the best!! (≧▽≦)

Inside the park, you’ll find a hot spring (onsen) ♨, a restaurant,
go-karts, sledding, animal encounters, and so much more to enjoy! (*^â–½^*)

We visited on a Sunday, and
plenty of outdoor play gear was on sale right at the park!

You can show up empty-handed and still have a blast!

The wind was pretty strong that day,
so the kites were soaring high in the sky!

Restrooms.

And there are vending machines too!

The on-site restaurant, Tsukimawari Restaurant, serves
authentic handmade soba noodles, udon, rice bowls (donburi), and yakiniku!

There’s a soft serve ice cream stand too! (*^â–½^*)
Fresh Milk Soft Serve: ¥350

※ Meal tickets can be purchased inside the restaurant.

What We Loved

There’s so much to do, but our top pick is the go-karts!

1,100m track — ¥1,000 per ride!

※ Go-kart riders also receive a discount coupon
for Tsukimawari Onsen (¥500 → ¥300)!

The go-karts actually pick up some serious speed!

And we’ll keep saying it —
the panoramic views are absolutely stunning!! (≧▽≦)

The sleds are slower than they look, so younger kids can ride safely!

To our surprise, there’s even a small playground!

And right next to it, a horizontal bar (tetsubo)!

And in their pen,
a whole crew of friendly goats was waiting to greet us! ☆

Why not come soak in the majestic Aso scenery
and let the adorable goats melt your stress away? (*´▽`*)

You’ll be ready to take on the workweek again, guaranteed! (lol)
