📌 What You’ll Learn in This Article
A Sarukuma writer’s firsthand report on “KEI’S COFFEE” in Tsukure, Kikuyo Town. Coffee beans start from around 300 yen. We’ve also summarized family-friendly tips, access info, and opening hours.

Hello, fellow travelers!
[Sarukuma] writer Cho-san here!

Today, I’m excited to introduce you to
[KEI’S COFFEE],
located in Tsukure, Kikuyo Town, Kikuchi District, Kumamoto Prefecture.

Sitting right along Route 57, this charming shop was calling my name.
I dropped by hoping to discover the perfect cup of coffee ♪
The shop occupies the first floor of this building.
A welcoming blackboard at the entrance highlights recommendations and special deals.

Inside, you’ll find a treasure trove of coffee beans,
coffee accessories, fine teas, and lovely lifestyle goods…
all displayed in dazzling variety.
Coffee beans are sold by weight, starting from around 300 yen per 100g.
The shop is packed wall-to-wall with jars of freshly roasted beans,
each one accompanied by detailed tasting notes.
Just browsing through them is half the fun ♪
There are also discounted recommended varieties, plus
single-serve drip bags, so you can pick whatever suits your style.
The original house blend drip bags come in
10-packs for ¥580 or even better-value
25-packs for ¥1,300.
Perfect for anyone who wants great coffee with zero fuss ♪

They even carry liquid coffee concentrate ♪

Beyond coffee, the tea selection here is wonderfully extensive.
From classics like Darjeeling and Earl Grey,
to trendy butterfly pea and decaf options,
plus an array of flavored teas.
The jarred teas are 60 yen per piece, sold in minimum sets of five.

Sweet Flavor Set (back)
Refreshing Aroma Set (front)
and other curated original assortments
are available as gift packs at ¥750 each

They also stock stylish imported confectionery,
perfect pairings for tea or coffee ♪

And here’s something truly special…
A product you can ONLY find here:
Have you ever heard of “Aso Coffee”?
Believe it or not, coffee is actually being grown right here in Kumamoto Prefecture!
This was a complete revelation to me.
As the first coffee farm in Kumamoto Prefecture, Goto Coffee Farm in Minamiaso,
together with project members, launched the
ASO Coffee Project
as a beautiful initiative to revitalize the Aso region through coffee
following the 2016 Kumamoto earthquake.
Production hasn’t reached mass scale yet,
and though yields are slowly growing,
these beans remain extremely rare and precious.

Sold only as drip-grind,
these exclusive beans are available right here at KEI’S COFFEE.
(Due to limited production, they may occasionally be sold out.)

Harvested and roasted beans typically reach the shelves around May each year,
so be sure to keep an eye out if you’re visiting then ♪

And there’s one more exciting find!
Exclusive collaboration goods featuring the popular Japanese anime “Girls und Panzer”!
These limited-edition items are sold ONLY at this shop,
so fans should drop by quickly to grab their favorites ♪
Living far away? No worries—
online mail order is available through the shop’s website
(Apologies, I’m not too familiar with anime myself,
so my explanation may fall short…)

And there’s even more!
They carry a selection of lifestyle goods too.
Jute hats and teddy bears
(many are featured on the right side of the photo above ♪)
Plus, beautifully crafted jute and canvas bags are also part of their lineup!

Recommended Picks

This time, I picked up two coffees and one herbal tea—three items in total.

The coffee was carefully measured,
and since I don’t own a grinder at home,
the staff kindly ground the beans for me
and packaged everything beautifully.

I chose September’s value-priced selections:
Special Blend (¥409/100g) and
Classic German (¥420/100g).
And as someone prone to headaches, I grabbed an herbal tea called
Headache Fighter (¥324)!

The back of the package had thoughtful, detailed brewing instructions ♪
And the ingredients list is wonderfully simple!
Such peace of mind when sipping ♡

As mornings and evenings turn cooler,
there’s nothing quite like a warming drink to lift the spirits.
Why not treat yourself to some truly special coffee?
