Michi-no-Eki Aso, located in Kurokawa, Aso City, Kumamoto Prefecture—
a must-visit roadside station for any traveler exploring the Aso region!

Believe it or not, the soft serve ice cream here was awarded
#2 in all of Kyushu!

I saw it featured on TV and rushed straight there the very next day! (laughs)

The banner proudly proclaims 2nd Place…
Well, well! Now I’m really curious to taste it!

The hot dogs can also be ordered as a set meal,

As you’d expect from a roadside station (michi-no-eki), there’s a wonderful selection of fresh local vegetables for sale!
You’ll also find plenty of souvenirs and ready-made side dishes—perfect for stocking up on uniquely Japanese gifts.

Traveling with little ones? You’ll be pleased to know there’s a nursing room inside, with a clearly displayed map for easy navigation.
The restrooms also have a diaper-changing station—super convenient for families!

Takehara Farm Soft Serve — 400 yen

Abe Farm Yogurt Soft Serve — 400 yen

This is the Abe Farm Soft Serve!
It has a refreshingly light milky flavor that you could honestly eat all day long!

Rich, yet leaves a clean finish on the palate!
And what’s more, the soft serve itself is generously sized!
It’s more than enough to leave you completely satisfied.

And this is the Takehara Farm Soft Serve!
The taste difference between the two is genuinely surprising!

Completely different from Abe Farm’s offering,
this one is rich and deeply creamy!

If you prefer indulgent, full-bodied creaminess over a lighter taste,
Takehara Farm’s soft serve is definitely the way to go!

There were grape samples available, so I added some on top for a
luxurious treat!

The grapes were big, sweet, and absolutely delicious!

What a satisfying and indulgent soft serve experience!
