Hello there!
This is Binako, writer for SaruKuma!

Today I’m introducing a wonderful spot located in
Hanatate, Higashi-ku, Kumamoto City:
“Karaage House Kazamidori” — a beloved local karaage (Japanese fried chicken) shop.

I’d been curious about this place foreverrrrrr
and finally made the trip!

My kids absolutely love karaage, so off we went!

Convenient parking is available right next to the shop! (^^♪

You’ll find it directly across from “Big Aeon Sakuragi Store” — easy to spot!

Now, let’s talk about the price of the karaage:
200 yen per 100g

What a deal!!!
Besides karaage, they also offer chicken chips! (^^♪

Here’s the full menu and pricing.

Yep — seriously affordable!

I love that they also list approximate piece counts alongside the gram measurements!
If you’re not used to ordering by weight,
this is a huge help… haha

Since the shop is right in front of a supermarket,
lots of customers grab some on their way home from shopping for an easy dinner!

Here’s another lovely touch: after you order, the staff will bring your food right to your car! Super convenient!
The staff were friendly and welcoming too — really lovely people!

Recommended Menu

This time, I went with

Karaage 200g — 400 yen
and it was AMAZING!

The aroma filled my car and I could barely wait to dig in.
If I’d been alone, I would have devoured the whole thing right there in the driver’s seat!

Plated up, even 200g feels like a generous serving.
Is this really only 200g?
It looks like more than the listed 6 pieces for 200g!

This is SO delicious!!!!

The crispy coating is perfectly distributed —
some bites are crunchy, others are flaky and light,
and even the batter itself is mouthwatering!

The chicken itself is tender and juicy.
It pairs perfectly with rice — you’ll keep coming back for more! ( *´艸`)

The salt seasoning is just right, and you’ll find yourself popping piece after piece into your mouth.

And as you can see —
my son grabbing the karaage with his bare hands!

He clearly fell head-over-heels for it,
and happily polished off most of the 200g all by himself! lol

Delicious, freshly fried, and incredibly affordable —
no wonder this place has so many devoted fans!

Whether or not you’re heading to Big Aeon, do yourself a favor and stop by for a taste of authentic Japanese karaage!
