Ichinomiya-machi Miyaji in Aso City, Kumamoto Prefecture,
to visit “Aso Natural Ice”.

Tucked away in a quiet residential neighborhood, this charming shop boasts a beautiful blue exterior.
Just looking at it gives off a refreshingly cool vibe — perfect for an ice cream stop!

You can park right in front of the shop, and there’s also a second parking lot directly across the street — convenient for travelers driving through the Aso area.

Two outdoor tables are available outside the shop —
on a cool day, enjoying your ice cream in the fresh Aso air is a wonderful option.

Currently,
Aso Natural Ice provides a designated area for diaper changing, breastfeeding, and bottle feeding —
a thoughtful service that traveling families with young children will truly appreciate.

Please note that shoes are not allowed inside the shop — a common Japanese custom.
Swap your shoes for the slippers provided at the entrance shoebox before stepping inside.

The display case overflows with an incredible variety of ice cream flavors.
With so many options, even decisive shoppers will find themselves agonizing over what to pick!

You’ll find unusual flavors like tomato and ginger,
alongside refreshing fruit options such as peach and mango.

Of course, the classics are well represented too — chocolate, matcha (green tea), and milk —
plus playfully named treats like “Marron in Love” (chestnut)…

Every single one looks so tempting, it’s nearly impossible to choose just one!

you can order a 6-flavor combo!

And the price? Unbelievably affordable.

Today I went with the [3-Flavor Combo (370 yen)].

“Wait, why not the 6-flavor one?!” — even I couldn’t help giving myself a little side-eye.

When my order arrived, I was greeted by a beautiful slice of melon on top.
This isn’t a limited-time bonus — it’s a standard service!

The shop tops your order with seasonal Japanese fruit — a delightful little extra.

Can this really be just 370 yen?
I couldn’t help feeling like I’d hit the jackpot.

It was my first taste of melon this year — and absolutely delicious!

First up: [Vanilla Egg].
The rich, deep flavor of egg yolk shines through,
yet the finish is light and refreshing — never heavy. Simply irresistible!

Next: [Ginger].
The gentle, fragrant warmth of ginger comes through beautifully —
not too spicy, with a touch of sweetness. The perfect choice for a hot summer day.

And finally: [Genmai (Brown Rice)].
From the very first bite, a wonderfully toasty, nutty aroma fills your senses —
