๐Ÿ“Œ What You’ll Learn in This Article
A SaruKuma writer visits Myosenji Park in Suya, Koshi City, Kumamoto Prefecture, and shares a firsthand report. We’ve also rounded up family-friendly tips, access info, and opening hours.

Hello there!
This is Rikotama, writer for SaruKuma!

Today we’re heading to
Myosenji Park,
located in Suya, Koshi City, Kumamoto Prefecture!

It’s conveniently close to Suya Station on the Kumamoto Electric Railway Kikuchi Line, and not far from Kikunan Onsen Spa Resort Agannasse!

The road leading to the park winds through a residential neighborhood, so it can be a little tricky to navigate.

Free parking is available for about 10 cars!

You’ll find vending machines in two locations!

Are those azaleas blooming behind it? โ™ช
I’d love to come back in spring to see them in full bloom! (*’ฯ‰’*)

And get this!
This vending machine even has drinks starting from just 50 yen!!!

A quick heads-up: fireworks and BBQs aren’t allowed in the park.
Bicycles are also prohibited, so it’s not the place for cycling practice…

Great news for parents โ€” the restrooms have a diaper-changing station!

There are two drinking fountains too!

You’ll also spot several benches scattered around โ™ช
And the best part? They’re covered, so you can take a break in the shade!

What We Loved About Myosenji Park

There are two playground areas to explore!

The first features a long roller slide and…

a curved slide!

From the playground, there’s a path that leads further down into the park.

Follow it down, and…

there’s a second playground area! It looks like such a blast!
* That said, with so many dragonflies, grasshoppers, and swallowtail butterflies fluttering around, my son was way more interested in catching bugs than playing on the equipment! (‘โ—‡’)ใ‚ž

There’s also a shallow water area!
It’s nice and shallow, so even little ones can splash around safely โ™ช

With plenty of water spots and relatively few visitors,
the day we went felt like a real dragonfly paradise! (*^โ–ฝ^*)

And here’s the highlight!
The biggest draw of this park has to be the massive open lawn area!

Our family had a blast running our remote-control car at top speed! (โ‰งโ–ฝโ‰ฆ)
The lawn dips down slightly in the middle, which made it the perfect natural track for RC car play โ˜†

By the end of the visit, my kid was rolling around in the grass crying, “I don’t want to go home!”
He looked so happy and relaxed (lol).

Why not come and roll around on the grass yourself? โ˜†
