Today we’re introducing
Yuho-no-Sato Shisui Koshi Park, located in Toyomizu, Shisui-machi, Kikuchi City.
With its uniquely Chinese atmosphere, this park is famous for letting you enjoy a taste of China without leaving Kumamoto. It’s located on the grounds of Michi-no-Eki Shisui (Roadside Station Shisui).
The grounds also include the Michi-no-Eki Shisui Yojo Market, where you can pick up bento boxes and fresh local vegetables — perfect for a picnic in the park.

The restrooms in the parking area are clean and traveler-friendly — they even come fully equipped with baby changing tables and child-sized toilets!
Just past the Yojo Market, you’ll find the West Gate of Koshi Park.
Step inside and you’ll be surrounded by stunning, super photogenic views!
There are plenty of stairs and quiet corners where you can sit and relax at your own pace.
Or if you prefer, head to the wide open plaza and let the kids run free!
The restrooms inside the plaza facility are also clean and well-kept — another big plus for visitors!

Highlights

A grassy lawn area perfect for kids to play! ♪ There’s even adult exercise equipment so parents can stretch while their kids play! There’s just something exciting about ducking under one of these traditional gates… Throughout the park, you’ll find ponds filled with big, colorful koi carp swimming gracefully.
Heads up: it’s easy to get carried away feeding them — watch your step so you don’t fall in! Koi food is just 100 yen.

The souvenir corner is stocked with classic Japanese dagashi (traditional cheap candies). Being able to grab snacks on-site makes this an even bigger win for families!
