Introducing Shinkai Children’s Park

Today we’re heading to Shinkai-machi in Yatsushiro City to check out
Shinkai Children’s Park.

Located near Yatsushiro Port, this park sits close to the river, giving the area a relaxed, breezy atmosphere (^^).

Tucked between Yume Town and Trial supermarkets, you’re never far from lunch, a bento, or a quick snack — super convenient when little ones get hungry after playing ◎

Because honestly, after a good play session, kids need food fast or the meltdowns begin 💦

It’s a compact park, but you’ll find plenty of classics like swings and a slide to keep the kids busy 🌱

We visited on a Sunday and pretty much had the whole place to ourselves ☺️
After about an hour of play, just as we were leaving, a sweet grandpa-and-grandchild duo arrived to enjoy the park ♪

Here’s a small but lovely detail — there’s a bench right next to each piece of play equipment!
It meant I could sit and rest while still being close enough to watch my son play (^○^)
Why is it that adults run out of energy so fast?! lol

A quick note on facilities: there is a restroom in the park, but it’s a bit on the older side… ^^;
The women’s restroom is Japanese-style (squat toilet), and the men’s is partially visible from outside 💦

Since both Yume Town and Trial have diaper-changing tables (and Yume Town also has a nursing room 🍼), you may want to head there for those needs!

What Makes Shinkai Children’s Park Special

This park has some really unique pieces of play equipment you don’t see every day 👍🏻

The biggest hit with my son? The car-shaped play structure ☆
It has a steering wheel, a seat, and even windows — he was making “vroom vroom” sounds the entire time ♪

This toddler swing is also a lifesaver ♡
It holds little ones securely so parents don’t need to support them — total peace of mind ☆Have you ever seen this one before?
It’s a pedal-powered merry-go-round — you sit on a bicycle seat and pedal to make it spin!

My son and I rode it together and he had a blast ◎
It’s the kind of equipment that’s perfect for playing with family or friends (^○^)
