A Sarukuma writer visits “Bento no Nobunaga” in person and reports back. Price range: from ¥500. We cover family-friendly tips, access, and opening hours.
Introducing Bento no Nobunaga
Hello there! After spending day after day outdoors with the kids during spring break, this aroma-loving Sarukuma writer is already getting a bit of a tan (*^-^*).
Today I’d love to introduce you to
a wonderful spot in Hachioji-cho, Chuo-ku, Kumamoto City —
“Bento no Nobunaga.”
We were heading out with friends and their family today, so we decided to grab some bento to take along ♡
If you drive along the Kumamoto Hamasen Bypass toward Hakusan, you’ll reach the Hachioji-cho intersection.
Turn right there, then turn right again at the second corner — and the shop appears on your right ♪

There’s a parking lot right next to the shop ♪
A paid coin-parking lot is also located across the street, making it very convenient.

Take a look at the sign by the entrance…
“Get your protein and become Happy with this BEN(to)!” Now that’s an intriguing tagline (*^-^*).

What’s this all about? Protein — essential for beauty, health, and weight management ♡
Getting 20g of protein per meal is genuinely tough, and the owner started making these bentos in response to customer requests.
The owner’s passion is brimming all over this signboard (*^-^*).
As a protein-conscious eater myself, I couldn’t wait to dig in.
Here’s the entrance (*^-^*). Let’s head inside ♪
Recommended Menu at Bento no Nobunaga
Here’s the menu.

All prices include tax.
♪ Nobunaga Bento ¥500 (pork dish, surprise fried item, 200g white rice)
♪ NEW from April ♡ Nobuneko Bento ¥600 (pork dish, mackerel, power lunch, 100g multigrain rice)
This one packs an amazing 20g of protein ( *´艸`) — what a treat!
Other options include:
♪ Ranmaru Bento ¥500
♪ Karaage (Fried Chicken) Bento ¥450
♪ Nanban Bento ¥480
♪ Tonkatsu (Pork Cutlet) Bento ¥600
The staff happily takes detailed orders, so you can customize portions for women, kids, light eaters, or hearty appetites — a real plus.
This time, I went for the following:

♪ Kiyomasa Bento (no meat, white rice) ¥1,100.
It’s loaded with Nobu Power Salad, salmon, mackerel, fried items (this time seafood-focused with shrimp fry, etc.), tamagoyaki (rolled omelet), assorted side dishes, and a sweet treat.
It’s a deluxe makunouchi-style bento at this price! Plenty to share with your child too.

“Itadakimasu! ♪” (Let’s eat!)
Mmm 💛 So delicious ( *´艸`)
The salad is seasoned to be kid-friendly, so even the little ones happily dig in ♪
With such a variety of small portions, you never get bored — bite after bite, it just keeps going.
The rice is deliberately cooled before being packed.
By cooling it, the rice develops “resistant starch” — a hard-to-digest fiber.
Yet another touch of the owner’s passion. A bento that’s gentle on your stomach, too ♡

My child went for the Bukatsu (Sports Club) Bento (white rice).
It’s the perfect filling, satisfying portion for students who play sports or do club activities.

“Wow! This is so good!” came the verdict from my child (*^-^*).
Another bento devoured eagerly ♡ Polished off in no time!

Next up, we ordered the Karaage Bento (less rice, white rice).
This was also for the kids.
The photo was snapped after it had already been opened, so a toothpick made an unplanned cameo — please excuse our charming oversight ♡
The seasoning came with a splash of fresh lemon juice.
The bright, refreshing flavor made the karaage a huge hit with the kids — they devoured every piece!
Afterwards, they ran around with boundless energy (*^-^*).
Starting in April, a new menu item with a whopping 20g of protein joins the lineup — perfect for those focused on beauty, health, or fitness. Don’t miss it!
Here it is!

The new April menu — Nobuneko Bento ♡ ¥600
(de-fatted pork belly and mackerel, salad with seasonal vegetables × steamed chicken × egg × beans × seaweed, 100g low-carb multigrain rice)
Just reading the ingredients makes you feel healthier ♪ This one’s a must-try.
Items can sell out by just after noon, so reservations are highly recommended ♪
Delivery is also available depending on the order amount, so check the website or contact the shop for the delivery zone ☺
They’re also a registered Uber Eats partner, which makes ordering easier even if you’re outside the regular delivery area ♪
The daily specials change every day, so office workers and regulars never get bored — what a treat.
A wide range of payment options is accepted in-store (*^-^*).
There’s also a kids’ menu, and now that the weather is warming up, why not pick one up for your next picnic? ♡
