NEWOLD is a relaxed cafe paired with a thoughtfully curated lifestyle shop. The owner personally selects every item on the shelves — from beautiful tableware to everyday goods — and invites you to browse at your own pace over a cup of coffee.

The name “NEWOLD” reflects the shop’s philosophy: pairing timeless old things that fit naturally into daily life with new things made to be loved for years to come.
True to its name, the selection is refreshingly free of fleeting trends — just clean, simple pieces with lasting appeal.


These pieces would also feel right at home as outdoor camping gear — stylish and rugged.

You’ll also find simple clothing and aprons in natural fabrics.

Even the displays themselves and the small lifestyle accessories feel beautifully styled.

NEWOLD’s Must-Try Menu

After exploring the shop, it’s time to enjoy the cafe side of NEWOLD!
The signature dish is Hayashi Rice — a classic Japanese-Western beef and tomato stew over rice — made from a recipe passed down from the owner’s grandfather.

Rich, savory, with a beautifully roasted depth of flavor. The fresh diced tomato served on the side is meant to be stirred into the sauce to taste.

The burst of fresh tomato takes the dish to a whole new level — absolutely delicious!

On the way out, I grabbed an iced coffee to go.
Look at that simple, stylish logo — too cute, right?

The parking lot sits across the street, and you’ll spot it easily — the shop name is even painted on the wheel stops! Most menu items (except sweets) are available for takeaway, so it’s perfect for a quick stop on a Kumamoto road trip. Definitely add NEWOLD to your itinerary!
