Introducing Torimaru

Hello, everyone! 😀

Today I’m introducing
Kumamoto Karaage Torimaru,
located in Kashima Town, Kamimashiki District, Kumamoto Prefecture.

Their salt karaage earned back-to-back championship titles at the 6th and 7th Kumamoto Karaage Championships — a true V2 victory!

You’ll find it right next to Kushiyaki Rinku, which I featured previously 😃

There’s plenty of parking, too 🚗

There’s even an electric fan — such a thoughtful touch 🥰

In addition to the regular menu, there are seasonal autumn specials:

Spicy Miso Sauce Bento

Tori Curry Maru (you can add cheese, fried shrimp, or squid rings as toppings)

Yokozuna Bento 😋 (the Yokozuna Bento has seriously generous portions!)

And it’s not just karaage —

Cheese Dogs are on the menu too 😃

Cheese dogs are perfect for a quick snack or as an extra side 👌

Torimaru has multiple locations across the area, so be sure to drop by the one closest to you 😆

There are benches over by DESAKI,
so you can enjoy your fresh-from-the-fryer karaage or bento right there 👌

Torimaru’s Recommended Menu

First up, I tried the

Garlic Soy Sauce Karaage — 100g for 250 yen 😋

Bold, deep flavor — absolutely delicious!

It pairs perfectly with rice, makes a great drinking snack, or works as a tasty treat anytime!
(The chicken is marinated for two full days in a secret garlic soy sauce blended from seven ingredients.)

Salt Karaage — 100g for 250 yen

(Marinated for two days in a blend of three different salt sauces, then finished with a special seasoning salt — Torimaru’s all-time No. 1 bestseller.)

Wow, just incredible!

So delicious!

Some salt karaage can taste bland or just like plain salt and pepper —

but this one is on a completely different level!

Hot and fresh out of the fryer is amazing, of course,
but even after some time, the flavor stays just as wonderful 😍
