📌 What you’ll learn in this article
A SaruKuma writer visits “mercureF” in Mercure F and shares a firsthand report. Price range: from 270 yen. Includes family-friendly tips, access info, and opening hours.

Hello there! I’m Binako,
a SaruKuma writer who has fallen
deep into the world of cream puffs!

Today I’m introducing you to
Tsukide, Higashi Ward, Kumamoto City, where you’ll find
“mercureF”.

I heard their Bo-Shu (stick-shaped cream puff)
won a prestigious award, so of course I had to go!
And off I went!

Please park in the designated parking spaces shown here ^^

Right at the entrance, you’ll spot the proud sign:
“Cream Puff Grand Prix — Special Award Winner”
My excitement was already through the roof!

It’s a treasure box!!!

The display case is lined with the most beautiful cakes.
I swear they were almost smiling back at me…

Such a colorful selection of cakes!
They’d make wonderful gifts to bring along when visiting friends (*´Д`)

These are guaranteed to be delicious.
I’ve been on a serious caramel kick lately.
This one looks like an absolute winner.

There were also some adorable little cakes ( *´艸`)
I’d love to try every single one! lol

They have macarons too!
These make the perfect Instagram-worthy gift.
A truly photogenic present.

You’ll also find whole cakes and roll cakes ( *´艸`)
The fruit topping is so generous — these are seriously luxurious cakes (*´Д`)

Apple Pie — 270 yen
It must be popular — only one was left!

Definitely on my list to try next time.

There’s also a wonderful selection of pound cakes and cookies!

They offer assorted gift sets too ^^
With tea available as well, it would make a lovely package to send (*´Д`)

And now, the stars of the show.

Bo-Shu (Stick Cream Puff) — 210 yen and

Made with 100% rice flour —
Komedawara (Rice Bale) — 170 yen

The names alone are unforgettable!

So I went ahead and ordered:

Bo-Shu — 210 yen

Komedawara — 170 yen

Both treats, here we go!!

Oh my, irresistible.

Time to dig in!

Oh, this is the good stuff!!!!

The custard has a refined, mellow sweetness,
and the dough itself is just sweet enough to make every bite easy and addictive!!

And wow — it’s absolutely loaded with custard ( *´艸`)

Because it’s stick-shaped, you can munch away without worrying
about the filling spilling out — what a clever design lol

No wonder it’s an award winner.
Seriously delicious.

Next up, the Komedawara (Rice Bale).

It’s topped with a sprinkle of sugar.

Generously creamy and absolutely delicious!!!!

Once again, that perfectly balanced light custard
works beautifully with the gently sweet dough!!

The bottom seems to be lightly caramelized too!
A delightful sandwich of subtle sweetness from top to bottom.

And the fact that it’s made with 100% rice flour is such a nice touch.

This visit was all about the cream puffs,
but they have a huge variety of cakes too — definitely give mercureF a try!
