Aiou, Koshi City, Kumamoto Prefecture:
“Ogata Egg Farm Shop” (おがたエッグファーム ファーム店).

This farm shop is also famous for its
egg vending machine outside —
you might have spotted one of these uniquely Japanese countryside features before! (#^.^#)

Convenient parking is available right in front of the shop ♪

Outside the shop, you’ll find real chickens being raised on the farm!
My child was thrilled and kept “chatting” with them — a totally adorable moment!

The indoor eat-in space even has picture books,
so you can relax and enjoy your sweets while keeping the kids entertained.

The shop sells two main types of eggs.
First up are the Omega-3 enriched eggs — perfect for health-conscious foodies! (*´Д｀)

And next, the signature Kaguya-hime Eggs (named after Japan’s legendary Princess Kaguya) ^^

Customers were coming and going during my visit,
and many were buying multiple cartons at once — proof of the local love!

They also offer processed foods!
You just know these are going to be delicious.

They’ve got sausages too — a great pick for families with kids,
or as the perfect snack to pair with a drink for a memorable Japanese-style meal at your accommodation!

This silky pudding (purin) is made with their signature Kaguya-hime Eggs.
Just 160 yen each — a true bargain! (*´ω｀*)

They were sold out this time, but they also offer kasutera (Japanese sponge cake) (*´Д｀)

The center is silky-smooth and the flavor is the ultimate indulgence!!
It slides down so effortlessly — you’ll finish it before you know it!

Now for the main event —

Kaguya-hime Eggs — 300 yen

When placed side by side, the Omega-3 eggs look slightly bigger!

The Omega-3 egg is incredibly creamy
and surprisingly easy to eat —
in fact, it has a real natural sweetness!!!

They’d be absolutely perfect for tamago kake gohan (TKG) — Japan’s iconic raw egg over rice ( *´艸｀)
