Introducing Una-Sen
Hello, this is Maru, a writer for [SaruKuma] 🥰
Today I’m introducing a wonderful spot located in Honmachi, Uto City—
[Una-Sen].

Una-Sen is a long-established unagi (freshwater eel) restaurant, and this time I visited their Uto branch.
Parking is available right in front of the shop. Just a heads-up: the entrance isn’t on the street side—it’s on the parking lot side, so don’t get confused!

The interior has a charming, traditional atmosphere that feels so calming—the kind of place where you almost want to say “I’m home, Grandma!” There are table seats, plus…
…there’s also a tatami-style zashiki room. It’s set up with table seating, so even older guests can sit comfortably without having to lower themselves to the floor.
And they even have high chairs and baby cribs available.
How incredibly family-friendly is that!

The shelves are stocked with picture books, and they’ll lend you toys like wooden building blocks too.
For little ones, they kindly serve finely chopped unagi over rice, perfectly portioned for kids 👦👧
Talk about going above and beyond!

Here’s the menu. Their popular Unagi-meshi comes with a personal ohitsu (wooden rice container) per guest 😲 I wonder how many bowls’ worth that holds…
Recommended Menu at Una-Sen
This time, we ordered the “Una-don Premium” and the regular “Una-don.”

This is the “Una-don Premium” for 3,100 yen.
It comes with kimosui (eel liver soup), pickles, and seasonal fruit—watermelon 🍉 today!

That gorgeous aroma and the glossy, glistening eel will absolutely whet your appetite!

A clean, perfectly balanced sweetness, that gentle smoky char, and incredibly fluffy eel that fills your whole mouth.
Oh yes—this is it. Pure indulgence! 😋

The light, refreshing kimosui soup cleanses your palate, and you’re ready for another bite of eel.
Don’t underestimate those pickles either—they’re seriously delicious, seasoned just right.

Surprise! The premium Una-don has another layer of eel hidden inside the rice. That little surprise is just the best.

And here’s the regular “Una-don” for 2,300 yen.
This one only has eel on top (no hidden layer), but it might be the perfect lighter portion for those wanting a more modest meal.

On the way out, kids even get a little candy treat. Such a sweet touch that makes you smile!
The owner and staff were all so warm and welcoming—offering rice refills and making us feel completely at home. We had such a lovely time here. I highly recommend stopping by! 🥰
