About Uto City Sports Park
Hello travelers! I’m Chomo, a writer for [Saru-Kuma] πΈ
Today I’m introducing [Uto City Sports Park], located in Asahimachi, Uto City.
Here’s the parking lot for Uto City Sports Park.
In addition to this lot, there are shared parking areas with the public sports field and city pool, so plenty of cars can fit.
Within walking distance, you’ll also find a bento (lunchbox) shop and a supermarket, making it easy to grab food before enjoying the park π
There are two restroom buildings on site.
They are separated by gender and were beautifully maintained when we visited.
The blue restroom building includes a universal/accessible toilet,
and even has a diaper-changing station β super convenient for families with babies! βͺ
Walking past the parking lot, Uto City Sports Park comes into view.
It’s a compact park, but it has fun playground equipment for kids β including a sandbox and seesaw βͺ
Animal-themed spring riders βͺ A zebra and a horse are lined up side by side.
Great fun for the littlest visitors too! β
There’s a swing set too! βͺ
Elementary school kids were having a blast on it.
The seats are a bit high, so we recommend that smaller children ride together with mom or dad to stay safe πΈ
A colorful play structure (we’re not quite sure what it’s called π).
Underneath, there’s a tunnel-like space β we spotted kids playing hide-and-seek inside βͺ
Uto City Sports Park also has a hand-washing station on site!
So even when little ones get messy from playing, you can easily clean up β
Top Highlights of Uto City Sports Park
Highlight #1: Trains Pass Right by the Park
A train rolls by every 30 minutes to 1 hour, so kids who love trains and vehicles will be absolutely thrilled!
The trains pass so close that they have real impact and excitement π
Highlight #2: Excellent Walking Trails
There’s a 600m walking course (one full lap).
Along the way, you may spot acorns scattered on the ground,
and during cherry blossom season you can enjoy hanami (flower viewing) while strolling β©
My 2-year-old son has been enjoying walks here in his stroller since he was a baby π
Lots of locals come here to walk too, and it’s lovely how friendly they are β they often say hello! βͺ
On weekends, you can watch youth baseball, soccer, tennis, and even kyudo (Japanese archery) practice sessions!
Getting to see so many sports up close is a wonderful way to spark a child’s interest in athletics β
If you’re passing through the area, be sure to drop by~ πΈ
