About Murayama Park

Hello travelers! I’m Gachako, a writer for [SaruKuma].

Today I’m introducing a wonderful spot in Shiromoto-cho, Hitoyoshi City:
[Murayama Park].

This park features a baseball field, tennis courts, and a scenic observation deck.

It’s just a 4-minute drive from the Hitoyoshi Interchange.

At the fork below Kuma Technical High School, turn right
and head up the steep slope.
(On the way up, we even spotted a family of wild deer — nature is everywhere here!)

Pass the temple and follow the road toward the tennis courts.

The parking lot is on your right after coming down the slope.

To your left, you’ll find restrooms and the Wai-Wai Square!
In this article, I’ll focus on Wai-Wai Square — the perfect playground for families.

While the drive up has plenty of slopes, the playground itself is flat and well-maintained, making it easy for kids of all ages to play.

There are three different kids’ gyms lined up, so children of every age can have fun!

So many choices — where to start?!

Top Highlights of Murayama Park

Everyone’s favorite — swings!

The ground is paved with soft rubber matting, so kids can play safely.

The seesaw comes with springs and backrests, so
even a gentle push sends it bouncing up and down!
The kids absolutely loved it!

In front of the restrooms, there’s a covered rest area and two vending machines.
With plenty of trees planted around,
there’s lots of shade — perfect for taking a break.

Honestly, in this season, playing at a park without shade is just unbearable…

The multipurpose restroom even has a diaper-changing station.
It’s beautifully maintained and spotlessly clean.

Beyond the restrooms, there’s even a shower room!
We didn’t use it this time, but if you bring a change of clothes and a towel, it’s a great way to rinse off after a sweaty play session.

The slides come in different heights, making them endlessly fun to ride again and again.

My own child kept shouting, “Now this one! Now that one!” —
an endless slide marathon!

If you’re ever in Hitoyoshi, be sure to stop by Murayama Park.
In spring, the cherry blossoms are in full bloom — it’s a beautiful spot for hanami (cherry blossom viewing) too!
