So what’s the story behind “414” in the shop’s name?
When I asked, the owner shared with a slightly bashful smile,
“It’s the date we got married.”
What a heartwarming story…
Just that one sentence tells you how close this couple is.

The shop also sells homemade jams and pound cakes,
which make wonderful treats for yourself or thoughtful souvenirs to take home.

They also offer fresh organic vegetables.
The carrots come with the soil still on them β€” my heart literally jumped the moment I saw them!

Inside, the shop has counter seating only.
Many guests come with their children,
and in those cases, kids sit alongside parents at the counter to enjoy their meal together.

Recommended Menu at Mutenkaya 414

Every ingredient on the menu is completely additive-free.
You can order items individually or as a set.

This time, I went with the [Salmon Avocado (980 yen)].

Thick, juicy salmon paired with creamy avocado. A classic combo β€” and that’s exactly what makes it tricky to nail.
The homemade soy mayonnaise brings a gentle, mellow flavor that perfectly complements the natural ingredients.

The bread has a wonderfully chewy yet hearty texture.

And there’s plenty of fresh vegetables too β€” it’s a one-plate meal that leaves you genuinely satisfied.

I chatted with the owners throughout my meal,
and the conversation was so warm and lively that everyone in the shop felt like old friends.
It’s a cozy, welcoming space β€” the kind of place you genuinely don’t want to leave.

Both the food and the atmosphere here are truly something special.
Do treat yourself to a visit β€” you won’t regret it!
