Introducing Miss Fruit Parlor

This is Maru, a writer for Sarukuma.

Today I’m taking you to Oe in Chuo-ku, Kumamoto City, to visit
“Miss Fruit Parlor”.

As Sarukuma has covered before, this hugely popular shop is famous for its photogenic, beautifully styled parfaits.

The shop sits right on a corner intersection, just a short walk from the Kumamoto Prefectural Theatre.
There’s parking for about 4 cars next to the shop, plus paid parking nearby — so you don’t have to stress about where to leave the car.

When I dropped by on the weekend, there was already a line outside.

The interior is stylish and inviting. There are counter seats, table seats, and even children’s chairs.

There’s also a sofa seating area. Depending on the table, strollers can be accommodated too.

The treats lined up in the display case are for takeout only — they aren’t served in the dining area.

Here you’ll spot parfaits, fruit sandwiches…

…and gorgeous, jewel-bright fruit tarts. They’d make wonderful souvenirs!

First up, I tried the White Peach & Pistachio Parfait — 1,200 yen 🍑

The soft pink palette gives this parfait such an elegant, grown-up feel.

A whole peach sits proudly on top. Pure luxury!

The juicy, fragrant peach paired with the rich pistachio ice cream — taking alternating bites is pure happiness.

As you dig deeper, you’ll find peach sorbet, white wine and vanilla jelly, and more — every spoonful brings a new flavor surprise.

Next up, the Shine Muscat Fruit Sandwich — 900 yen 🍇

Shine Muscat grapes are sweet enough to eat skin and all. The bright green color makes this sandwich almost too pretty to bite into!

It was my first time trying a Shine Muscat sandwich — the generous cream is light and refreshing, pairing beautifully with the fruit.

Each bite gives that delightful pop of fresh muscat flavor.

The illustrated lady on the shop’s logo is wearing a pudding-à-la-mode hat — and it suits her perfectly! ˚✩*
