Today I’m introducing a wonderful spot located in Kuhonji, Chuo-ku, Kumamoto City:
“SORRISO”

It’s a specialty shop serving Italian-style fried pizza — a popular Italian fast food!

The shop is located right across from the Direx store in Kuhonji 🏠

There’s no parking lot, so if you’re getting takeout, calling ahead to place your order will save you waiting time.

You can also dine in! The seating consists of just two tables and a counter.

Due to COVID precautions, the shop is currently limiting dine-in to one group at a time.

The interior is incredibly stylish ✨

The vintage-style clock and lighting fixtures alone are worth a look!

The classic Margherita 😍
Starting at just 400 yen — incredibly reasonable! So many varieties to choose from, it’s hard to decide 😆

They even have dessert pizzas, including chocolate options! (=^^=)

Here’s what we ordered this time!

First up, the Margherita for 400 yen ✨

And here it is in all its glory!

Beautifully golden and crispy 😍

Bite into it while it’s hot, and you’ll get a flood of melty cheese ~ 🧀

And the cheese — it stretches forever!

Even though the dough is fried, it’s surprisingly light and crispy — not heavy at all 😋
It was so delicious, I devoured it in no time.

Next is the Sweet Potato Fries for 400 yen!

Yes, the “potato” here is actually Japanese sweet potato (satsumaimo).
And it’s tossed in garlic butter 😮

A first-time experience!

The natural sweetness of the satsumaimo paired with a savory salty kick.

The garlic butter and aroma of rosemary create an unexpectedly amazing flavor combo 😍

I wasn’t sure if my daughter would like it,
but she said “It’s so good — I can’t stop!” and quietly polished it off (*^^*)

And this is the Cinnamon Ball for 300 yen.

Generously coated with cinnamon sugar all over!

Densely packed donut dough — another mind-blowingly delicious treat 😋

My daughter was hooked on this one too!
It made me want to come back and try everything else on the menu ✨
