📌 What You’ll Learn in This Article
A SaruKuma writer visits and reports on “Tasakitei,” located in Kusunoki, Kita Ward, Kumamoto City. Price range: from 200 yen. We’ve also rounded up family-friendly points, access info, and business hours.

Hello there!

Struggling to keep up with the chilly nights and blazing hot days,
it’s Binako, your SaruKuma writer!!

Today I’m introducing a spot located in
Kusunoki, Kita Ward, Kumamoto City, Kumamoto Prefecture:
“Tasakitei”.

Tasakitei is actually an izakaya (Japanese-style pub),
but during the daytime they sell takeaway age-pan (Japanese-style fried bread)! ^^

Ever since I spotted their age-pan banner a while back,
I’d been dying to try it — so this time I showed up before they even opened, lol!

There’s parking right in front of the shop,
so travelers driving in can stop by with peace of mind ♪

Enter from the left side of the storefront and you’ll see the age-pan noren (traditional cloth curtain).

There’s a bell, so just press it after you arrive
and you can place your order ^^

The owner is super friendly and easy to chat with —
such a lovely person ( *´艸`)

Current Menu

The age-pan menu is simple — just two flavors:
Cinnamon
Kinako (roasted soybean flour)
(*´ω`*)

This time I went with Kinako — 150 yen (now 200 yen)!!

Fresh out of the fryer and piping hot! ♪

Age-Pan = Unbeatable

The kinako melts perfectly into the freshly fried bread,
so the moment you take a bite, that nutty, roasted soybean fragrance fills your whole mouth.

And the bread itself is unbelievably fluffy — absolutely delicious.

The bread is nice and thick, so it’s plenty filling,
but it’s so good you can easily polish off two!

Soft, fluffy, slightly chewy — kids will love it too (*´Д`)

Definitely give it a try when you’re in town!!
