Hello, fellow travelers!
This is Asukarando, your SaruKuma writer.

Today, I’m excited to introduce a wonderful spot in
Mitsugi-machi, Kita-ku, Kumamoto City:
“Izumi Mitsugi Green Space Park
(Food Pal Kumamoto Park)”.

This park is located inside Food Pal Kumamoto.

Even if you forget to bring snacks or drinks, no worries — Food Pal Kumamoto has all kinds of food shops where you can pick up everything you need (^-^)

The closest parking lot to the park is right off the road, shown here.

A bit further along, there’s also a much larger parking area.
It’s an easy walking distance to the park.

The restrooms are conveniently located right at the park entrance.

The park can be accessed via both stairs and a ramp,
so families with strollers or carts can visit without any worries.

Hand-washing stations are also located near the park entrance.

What Makes This Park Special

Check out the play equipment! ☆

There’s a fun spiral slide and a tunnel slide that kids absolutely love (^-^)/

Here’s the view from the other side —
besides the stairs, there are lots of different ways for kids to climb up (^-^)/

Children make friends in no time, and
before you know it, a game of tag is in full swing (^-^)

There’s also a smaller slide perfect for little ones who can enjoy playing safely (^-^)

Then there’s this fun feature too (^^)

My child couldn’t manage this when they were younger, but they’ve really grown! (^-^)

The kids had a blast crossing the rope bridge too ☆

The play area is enclosed and features a comfortably-sized lawn,
so parents can relax while keeping an eye on their kids ☆

There are also plenty of benches around the park,
and with shady spots available, it’s a great place to spread out a picnic mat (^-^)

I visited in the late afternoon, so most of the park was already in shade,
but during the daytime it gets plenty of sunshine.

At the top of the stairs (or ramp), you’ll find shaded benches too.

From here, you can even watch the trains go by (^-^)
