๐Ÿ“Œ What You’ll Learn in This Article
A SaruKuma writer visits “Kurabe” in person and reports back. Price range: from 1,000 yen. We also cover family-friendly points, access, and opening hours.

Today we’re introducing
“Kurabe Sake Tasting Specialty Bar,”
located in Shinshigai, Chuo Ward, Kumamoto City.

This spot actually opened on July 21st.

You can sip away from traditional hinoki cypress masu cups!

By the way, the chilled storage room
that keeps all this sake at the perfect temperature
was actually handcrafted by the owner himself.
Who knew you could just build your own cold room?

The bar sits right across from Don Quijote,
but the signage is so understated
that calling it a “hidden gem”
feels like an understatement โ€” it’s truly tucked away.

There’s a small snack menu too,
but you’re allowed to bring in your own food and drinks,
so settle in and enjoy a leisurely evening until closing!

They’ve even got a projector and screen!

Opening hours are posted on a sign on the first floor!

The closing time is a bit on the early side,
