Summer is finally here in full swing!
Many visitors head out to Amakusa this season for swimming, fishing, and seaside fun.
If you’re planning a long drive across the islands, why not take a relaxing break with a soothing foot bath along the way?
Today we’re introducing Matsushima Onsen Ryu no Ashiyu (Dragon’s Foot Bath), located inside Aitsu Port — just to the left after you cross Bridge No. 5 (Goko-bashi).

As you soak your feet in the warm water and gaze out at the breathtaking natural scenery of Matsushima, it’s easy to lose track of time.

And here’s the best part — it’s a genuine free-flowing natural hot spring (gensen kakenagashi), and admission is completely free!

This wonderful spot is offered through the kindness of the local community so that travelers from all over can enjoy it. Please be sure to follow the rules and treat the space with care.
There’s also a stylish café & bar right next door, so why not stop in for a drink or snack after your foot bath? It’s the perfect way to round off the experience. ♪
